Company Challenges
This tech company came to me with serious SEO problems. Before I started, they had relied on black hat SEO techniques and poor-quality link building, which led to penalties and a weak online reputation. As a result, their organic visibility was very low. At that stage, the site was only generating 35 clicks, with around 6,580 impressions and an average CTR of 0.5%. Their average position was 15.4, leaving them behind competitors and struggling to attract the right audience.
Project Overview
The main objective was to recover the website from these penalties and rebuild its SEO foundation the right way. My plan focused on removing the damage from past black hat practices while implementing clean, long-term strategies that would allow the company to grow sustainably. Since the tech space is highly competitive, this meant creating a balance between fixing existing issues, building authority, and driving new traffic.
SEO Strategies
I started with a detailed SEO audit that uncovered technical gaps and toxic backlinks. I worked on disavowing harmful links and cleaning up poor link-building practices that were hurting the site’s trust. Once the penalties were addressed, I moved on to technical improvements, making sure the site was crawlable, well-structured, and user-friendly.
Next, I created a keyword strategy targeting high-intent tech-related terms and niche long-tail queries. I optimized existing service pages with semantically rich content and built new pages to cover the company’s key offerings. I also refined on-page SEO, improving metadata, headings, and internal linking to boost relevance.
To regain authority, I worked on white-hat link building by securing quality mentions and citations. Alongside this, I developed a content plan with blogs and FAQs that targeted industry-specific questions, which helped strengthen topical relevance and attract more organic users.
Results
In just 6 months, the recovery was clear. Clicks increased from 35 to over 4,650, while impressions skyrocketed from 6,580 to 673,000+. The average position moved from 15.4 to 25.8, showing a much broader keyword footprint.
Analytics also confirmed the turnaround. The site reached 1,200+ monthly users, a 105% increase compared to the previous period, and page views rose to 3,600+, up nearly 76%.
By removing black hat damage and replacing it with a clean, sustainable SEO strategy, the company regained its visibility and built a stronger foundation for long-term growth.
